The Red Mountain
In the depth of Altai, in the inmost Uimon valley, located the outlandish Red Mountain. Around ascend the tops of the two mountain ranges that stretch for dozens of kilometers, and it stands separately, without entering into any massif. Its stones and rocks are different from those that are typical for this area. There is one opinion that the Red Mountain is a dormant volcano, the track on the ground surface, where in unimaginable antiquity escaped living fire. And today it is one of the acupuncture points of the planet.
At the foot and on the slopes of the Red Mountain lie eight lakes of different size and shape, with blue and green water of various shades. There is everything here that the mountains attract people: rainbow alpine motley grass, shining snowfields, not melting even at the peak of hot summer, rattling waterfall and a placer of colored stones on a transparent lake shallow. There are even ancient rock paintings, which are completely unexplored and are not accessible to everyone. As for the view from the top, it's just a fairy tale: the mountain steppe opens wide, the coniferous taiga seems like a malachite grass; in full view, mountain ridges can be seen on all four sides. And there, in the east, the crown of Belukha - the highest peak, the legendary center of the Altai - may be seen due to the summer haze or swirling clouds. Of course, it also happens that the majestic mountain does not hurry to show the world its two peaks, and the weather over the high ridges is very capricious. But even in this case, disappointment does not come: probably, it is enough of a sweet-dragging sense of expectation - but what if?
The lowest lake is surrounded by a canopy of centuries-old cedars and tall larches; the upper lakes lie in mountain circuses and stone hollows. Below reigns greenery and a rainbow, above the cliffs of all shades of gray are slightly touched by a mild pastel of mosses and lichens. And everywhere - the currents of the ground, the emanation of air, the energy of water. Everyone can find here their own energy channel, an ideal place for meditation.
How far is Red Mountain? Long away! From the nearest major city, Barnaul - about six hundred kilometers away by road. And a few hours of driving to the foot of the mountain. So is it worth to go to the edge of the world? Worth it!
Firstly, the Red Mountain is not just a Place of Power, it is a special point with a primordial energy resource, where very few people are. Secondly, once reaching the Uimon Valley, you can touch many other miracles: to visit the stone of wisdom found by Roerich, to make a trip to the Multinskiye Lakes, to climb the Terektinsky Ridge. You can listen to the stories of local old-timers about how in June 1941, before the Great Patriotic War, an underground roar and moan was heard through the villages, and during the Battle of Stalingrad there was a "war in heaven" - vague pictures of a great battle that flashed on the surface of clouds. About strange light due to the mountains, which "did not warm, but burned", and then on the slopes of the ridge came across perfectly smooth, as if melted areas. Many secrets are kept in Uymon, and the Red Mountain is only one of them.
